Margibi, Liberia, January 22, 2025 – Police in Margibi County are investigating a woman believed to be in her 20s, identified as Princess Kpannah, for allegedly poisoning a friend to death.
The victim, Mary Kollie, reportedly ate a doughnut given to her by Suspect Princess Kpannah.

The tragedy occurred at Christ International School Campus in Weala, Cinta Township, Margibi County.
Reports say Suspect Kpannah allegedly bought the doughnut and gave it to Mary on campus, and immediately after eating it, the deceased started vomiting and was rushed to a nearby clinic, where she was pronounced dead.
However, during Police preliminary investigation, Kpannah told reporters that though she bought the bread for her friend, she did not poison it.
According to her, they both share good relationship and had never had bitter lines that might have led to the act.
“Yes, I bought her doughnut but did not poison it. Mary has been a good person to me, and there was never a confusion between us. I cannot poison my friend, and we are the only two females in class”, she denies.
Meanwhile, the Margibi Police have detained Suspect Kpannah as the investigation continues into the death of the late Mary Kollie.
The family of the deceased and the local community are left searching for answers while grappling with the devastating loss of a promising young life.
