MoJ orders immediate investigation into alleged abuse of 9-year old manor

The reported abuse of the 9-year-old boy reveals how these manors are often abuse at these sidewalk garages under the guise of training.

Monrovia-February 24, 2025/The Ministry of Justice has instructed its Child Justice Division to investigate an alleged physical abuse of a 9-year-old boy allegedly perpetrated by a local garage owner at an unidentified location in Monrovia.

Jutonu Kollie, Director of Press & Public Affairs over the weekend said that the Ministry of Justice notes with grave concern, publications by various social media blogs, the alleged physical abuse of the child.

” The Ministry has instructed its Child Justice Division to investigate an alleged physical abuse of a 9-year-old boy allegedly perpetrated by a local garage owner at an unidentified location in Monrovia. The Ministry mandates its Justice Division to take cease of the matter to swiftly investigate and take appropriate legal actions against the alleged perpetrator” he stated.

According to him, the incident, originally posted by a man identified as Daniel S. Mulbah, showed an adult believed to be the owner of the said garage sitting on the head of a child allegedly as punishment for committing wrong.

He added that Mr. Mulbah further stated in his post that all efforts to release the child from the hold of the alleged perpetrator proved futile.

Director Kollie further indicated that this action, is condemnable and a gross violation of the Child Rights Law of Liberia (2011).

Meanwhile, Director Kollie is calling on members of the public to contact the Division of Child Justice at the Ministry of Justice with any information on the identity of the alleged perpetrator so that he can face the full weight of the Law.

” This Ministry emphasizes the importance of collective actions in protecting vulnerable children” he concluded.
