Ellen Wants Japan Re-opens Embassy

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has appealed to Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda to reopen its Embassy in Monrovia and re-establish the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) Programme which was suspended during Liberia’s civil crisis.

Liberia Scores High in Governance

A survey conducted by the former executive secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa, Abdoulie Janneh, has revealed that Liberia has improved its governance with the scores 46.6, compared to 34.6 in 2006; while Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa have dropped in percentage.
