Ellen Urges Japanese Investors to Explore Liberia

As events got under way at the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V), in Yokohama, Japan, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Friday 31 May addressed the Africa Symposium, where she discussed the potential for enhancing Japan-Africa partnership through the private sector.

GAC, Traditional Council Seeks More Funding

The General Auditing Commission and the National Traditional Council of Liberia have stressed the need for increased budgetary allotments to enable both institutions operate effectively. The GAC said more funding will enable the institution to execute its statutory programmes in the continuous corruption fight in the government.

Japan to Reopen Diplomatic Mission

Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, has promptly instructed his staff to “reopen” diplomatic mission in Liberia in response to an appeal by President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the Executive Mansion has said.
