The headquarters of Liberia’s GSM giant Lonestar Cell MTN in Congo Town was a jubilant scene on Wednesday when the company officially turned over two cars to the third place winner of Project Fame 2013, Ms. Margaret Cephas, and the winner of Lonestar Cell MTN 3x mega promotion, Madam Esther Wallace.

Africa Improves Business Regulation

A new report by the World Bank Group has revealed that Sub-Saharan Africa continues to record a large number of reforms aimed at easing the regulatory burden on local entrepreneurs, with 66 reforms adopted in the past year.  Rwanda, Côte d’Ivoire, and Burundi are among 10 economies globally that are improving business regulation the most, according to the report.

Brussels Airlines Held For $6.5m

A jury panel at the Civil Law Court in Monrovia Thursday held Brussels Airlines liable for US$6.5m, following a weeklong trial at the Temple of Justice in an action of damages for wrong, filed by a passenger, London Elton Oliver. Presiding Civil Law Court Judge, Boima Kontoe, is expected to hand final ruling in the case within four days.
