Gbarpolu County Senator Armah Zolu Jallah has called on government to ensure that the freedom and social justice of every individual are upheld and respected under the Constitution of Liberia and that all citizens equally benefit from the national resources of the country.

He spok on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 when he was honored by the X-Ray Newspaper and the Editors and Reporters Association of Liberia as Senator of the year 2012. The lawmaker emphasized the need for government to assure that citizens are allowed to exercise their civil liberties as actors in the economic recovery program of the country.

A release issued in Monrovia by the Chief of Staff to the Senator, J. Alphanso D. Perkins quoted the Senator as saying when citizens enjoy civil liberties and freedom of speech, among others, it will be a warranty for sustained and vibrant economic, political and social development.

During the honoring ceremony, the institutions recounted Senator Jallah’s tremendous contributions made to the church and the state, including human resource development, providing economic empowerment primarily to market women, infrastructural development, and advocating for the rights and equality of all citizens.

The release said in January, Samuel Kanyon Doe Community Youth Association honored Senator Jallah as Senator of the year 2012 while Jet Publishing Incorporated also awarded him a certificate as the excellent senator and politician of the year 2012.
