13 suspects face arrest in Nimba

Superintended Fong Zuagele of Nimba County has ordered the arrest of 13 citizens in the county for their alleged involvement in recent mob violence in District# 5, Nimba, leading to the death of two persons.

Superintendent Zuagele ordered the arrest during the launch of Nimba County Security Anti– Mob Violence Campaign organized by the United States Department of States-funded program Kalzen in Yao- Glulay Town, Buu-Yoa District, Nimba County.

He said the people of Buu-Yao District have been noted over the years for their dedication to agricultural activities, including production of cocoa and other produce, but of late, they have turned to mob violence rather than engage in things that will bring pride to them.

Superintendent Zuagele pointed out that the district continues to be involved in mob violence.

He added that no country can progress without adhering to the rule of law.

The NewDawn Nimba correspondent said Superintended Zuagele’s comment followed citizens’ complaint against the 13 suspects in connection to the death of the two individuals in the district.

The victims, 27-years-old Chester Gonkeh, and Emmanuel Monbiah, 32, were reportedly mobbed to death by the people of Beeplay, Florlay, and Payeglay in District#5, Nimba County.

Our correspondent said the death of the two individuals resulted to violence among citizens of the three towns.
