The Criminal Court “C” at the Temple of Justice is expected to complete jury selection today, Tuesday to commence a separate trial against Reverend Matthew T. Sakeuh, jointly accused with his wife Mrs. Plenseh Sakeuh of the Africa Indigenous Evangelical Mission (AIEM) in Liberia for allegedly duping a US based group, ABC International of One Million United States Dollars ($1,000,000.00USD).

Judge Peter W. Gbenewleh instructed the court sheriff Monday to summon additional prospective jurors to appear at the Temple of Justice this morning for screening and subsequent selection for the jury panel.

A total of 11 jurors were selected on Monday morning, but the court needs additional four to complete a 15-man jury panel to observe the facts in the case. In July this year when Judge Yussif D. Kaba presided over the Criminal Court “C”, Reverend Sakeuh was granted a separate trial on grounds that his wife was out of the country.

The indictment said between 2006 and 2009, Rev. Sakeuh and wife were hired to purchase a total of 72.6 acres of land to establish the ABC Children Aid Liberia as a branch of the ABC International for a monthly salary of US$2,700.00.

In the indictment, Sakeuh and his wife are however accused of allegedly failing to implement the project, but rather strategized to misapply the US$1 million. Defendant Sakeuh and his accusers, the ABC International appeared before the trial court Monday with a number of students dressed in their uniforms.

The students, mixed with kids were seen around the ABC International group in court and later posted for photos with their lawyer Cllr. Theophilus T.C. Gould outside the court before they were transported on a white bus from the Temple of Justice.

But some students from the University of Liberia, who assembled around Rev. Sakeuh just after matters, were suspended by the court, later called for speedy and fair trial of the case.
