TEMPERAMENTS (PART ONE)
This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Today, we shall discuss TEMPERAMENTS (behavior).
Most times in relationship we find it so difficult to endure with our partners because of their behaviors. After going through this lesson, you shall learn how to select your partner and also how to accept people for who they are.
Let us first understand what temperament is.
Temperament is the characteristic way an individual behaves towards other people. Also, it is an individual difference in the quality and intensity of emotional reaction, activity level, attention and emotional self- regulation.
There are four types of temperament; and each of these temperaments has their strength and weaknesses, each of which is being discussed here. The strength is an advantage but the weaknesses are what we ought to know to be able to tolerate one another.
People with this temperament are lively, sociable, carefree, talkative and pleasure – seeking. These kinds of people are EXTROVERT that is, they love to be engaged with people and are active and expressive.
Indiscipline, forgetful, disorganized, interruptive, inconsistence, easy to anger
People with this type of temperament are task-oriented people and are focused on getting a job done efficiently. They are ambitiously strong- willed and like to be in charge. They like to show leadership and are good in planning. They also appreciate receiving respect & esteem for work done. These kinds of people are EXTROVERT
Bossy, impatience, proud, workaholic, stubborn;
People with this temperament may appear serious. They often prefer to do things themselves, to meet their own standards. These kinds of people are INTROVERT that is, they are shy person and because of their shyness they love to do things all by themselves.
Unforgiving, fussy, very critical, hard to please, insecure, depress;
People with this temperament maybe inward & private, thoughtful, reasonable, calm, patient, caring & tolerant; they seek to have a quiet & peaceful atmosphere, and be content with themselves and what they have.
Blank, fearful, lazy sometimes, worries a lot, hard to make decision, doubtful, sluggish.
These are the four temperaments of a human being; you either have one or two temperaments. One thing you should know is that you can only discover someone else’s temperament when you have first discovered yours.
Because of space, we shall discuss details of these temperaments in next week’s edition.
