NTA extends services to Lofa

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has extended its public transport bus service to Lofa County, northern Liberia.

Speaking Monday on Hot FM in Monrovia, the Corporate Communication Officer for NTA, Robert Wilson, said the fleet of buses were donated by the Republic of India to the Government of Liberia to ease the public transport difficulty in Liberia.

He said passengers travelling from Monrovia to Lofa should go to the NTA parking station in Redlight, Paynesville and pay all fares directly to the conductor wearing NTA T-shirt, warning that if not, they may be tricked by some car loaders and could end up paying a higher amount to reach their destination.

Mr. Wilson said plans are underway to cover the entire country with its fleet of buses but the road condition was deplorable, saying, “Once the roads are good in all the counties, citizens should be assured that the NTA authority will make it a priority that the buses reach these counties.”

He also added that the fare for NTA bus leaving Monrovia for Zedru and Greenville respectively is 1,500 Liberian Dollars and the bus often leaves on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Corporate Communication Officer noted that the bus leaves Monrovia by 6am for Zedru and Greenville, respectively.
